Premium Upgrade
Hall Effect upgrade at StickFix €50. Magnetic TMR sticks instead of potentiometers, no wear, no stick drift. For all controller brands.
Definition
A Hall Effect upgrade replaces the mechanical potentiometer sticks in your controller with magnetic sensors. Instead of carbon contacts that wear against each other with every movement, a Hall sensor measures the position of a small magnet on the stick. No contact, no wear, no stick drift. The upgrade costs 50 EUR for PS5 Standard DualSense and 80 EUR for SCUF and custom controllers at StickFix. Included: the module, installation, a calibration test, and 3 months warranty. Compatible: PS5 DualSense, Xbox One and Series, Joy-Con, Steam Deck, SCUF, Aim Controller, Rocket Games, Lux, and FTW. Turnaround is 1 to 3 business days. Hall Effect sticks last virtually indefinitely because there is nothing mechanical to wear out. TMR is the newer variant with slightly higher precision, used depending on availability.
The Problem
Every standard controller uses potentiometers in the analog sticks. These are tiny carbon contact pads that rub against each other with every movement. After a few hundred hours of use, the contact surfaces are worn down, values become inaccurate, and the stick starts to drift. This isn't a defect; it's a design flaw. Mechanical contact means mechanical wear.
PS5, Xbox, Steam Deck, Joy-Con: They all use the same potentiometers. Stick drift hits every controller sooner or later. Standard replacement parts just delay the problem. You need something different.

The Solution
Hall Effect sticks work completely differently. Instead of mechanical contact, they measure the stick position via a magnetic field. A small magnet on the stick moves over a sensor that measures the field strength. No contact, no abrasion, no wear. The technology lasts practically indefinitely because there is nothing that can wear down.
Comparison
The direct comparison shows why Hall Effect is the superior technology. Potentiometers are cheaper to manufacture but more expensive in the long run because you'll need to repair it every 6 to 12 months.
| Property | Potentiometer | Hall Effect / TMR |
|---|---|---|
| Wear | Mechanical abrasion with every use | No contact, no wear |
| Precision | Decreases over time | Constant, even after years |
| Lifespan |
Compatibility
We install Hall Effect and TMR sticks in virtually every controller. Standard or custom, we have the right modules.

Common Questions
We swap the original potentiometers in your sticks for magnetic sensors. They work without contact, don't wear out, and therefore can't drift. €50 per pair of sticks, installation included.
Pretty much any. PS5 DualSense, Xbox, Joy-Con, Steam Deck, SCUF, Aim Controller, Rocket Games, Lux, FTW. If you're unsure, just ask us.

Hall Effect sticks are the permanent solution against stick drift. An upgrade, not a replacement.
Both use magnets and are completely drift-free. TMR is the newer generation with slightly higher precision. Both are a massive upgrade over any stock stick.
